Located 40 minutes from Naples and Pompei in the village of Domicella, Kulturfactory faces Vesuvius and traces a creative line from the shore to the pulsing heart of an explosive land.

Kulturscio’k is a not-for-profit company dedicated to producing, discovering and supporting international contemporary artists working in art, music, film, literature, architecture, theater and other creative disciplines.

Innovation and development of new forms.

The element of collaboration and exchange is one of the founding principles of the company.

Our factory-residency offers a new way to host artists, bringing together different areas of practice to generate new creative outlooks, unparalleled research and exciting new impulses. The goal of the residency is to inspire dialogue and new ways to form and to perform.

We choose works that seek to experiment and to explore unknown paths. To encounter and to generate new collaborations. At Kulturfactory, artists’ workspace and living space co-exist within one location. The resident artists become members of the community, and a part of communal life. The village of Domicella has one restaurant, one bar, one shop. It is an intimate and tight-knit community, surrounded by some of the most beautiful archaeological sites in the world.

Previous artists have been selected to important festivals and venues mostly with works produced and created onsite

Villa Santa Maria sits between Mount Vesuvius and Vallo di Lauro, a site with ancient roots and a land rich with history and Culture. It is the ideal place to develop an artistic project and to question the cultural system.

A program of workshops and other events are offered by the company in collaboration with the artists-in-residence to promote interaction and exchange of ideas, both among residents and within the wider community. Further facilities include free Wi-Fi, an ample rehearsal room, and a library.

Surrounded by green, Domicella is also characterized by a particularly mild climate. Fresh and windy air in summer, balmy in winter. Spread out over 3 floors and absorbed in light with 7 bedrooms, 6 baths and a large kitchen, the residence can host up to 10 people.

The residence has wireless internet access, in the house and the rehearsal room. From the vast garden full of fruit trees, it is possible to enjoy views of the Vesuvius Volcano and the Valley of Lauro.
